A deep recession and tougher border enforcement has led to a sharp decline in the number of immigrants entering the United States illegally in the past five years, contributing to the first significant reversal in the growth of their numbers in two decades, according to a new report by the Pew Hispanic Center.
However, as evidenced by the article I posted in my previous post, there are many people running for office using the current anti-immigration mood to gain some votes alleging that undocumented immigrant are, in their words, "invading the country" and taking "American jobs."
But the current trend is the exact opposite; many undocumented immigrants are returning to their home countries and fewer people are attempting to enter the US without a visa due to the current state of the US economy.
